If you want one codebase for iOS and Android, React Native and Flutter are the two realistic options in 2026. Both are mature, but they suit different teams and different projects.

React Native

React Native renders native components through JavaScript and React. Its biggest advantage is the JavaScript ecosystem: if you already use React on the web, you can share logic and even whole modules between your web app and mobile app. It has the largest talent pool, extensive libraries, and over-the-air updates that many teams rely on.

Flutter

Flutter draws its own UI with a high-performance engine, which gives exceptionally consistent look-and-feel across platforms. Teams often cite smoother animations, strong developer tooling and excellent widget catalogues. It is a great choice when pixel-perfect custom UI matters more than sharing code with an existing React web app.

• Choose React Native if you have (or want) a React web app and want to share code and talent.
• Choose Flutter if you want the most consistent custom UI with top-tier animation performance.
• If you are starting from scratch with a small team, your own team’s language skills often decide it — there is no wrong answer for most business apps.
• For heavy native features, sensor work or deep OS integration, evaluate native iOS/Android alongside the cross-platform option.
